The "Hohe Jagd & Fischerei" Trade Fair 2023

Over 400 exhibitors make the trade fair organised by RX Austria & Germany a fixture for all hunters, fishermen and nature enthusiasts, presenting the latest trends and innovations from the hunting and fishing sectors and offering a comprehensive overview for 4x4 fans with absolut allrad taking place at the same time.

The opening of "Die Hohe Jagd & Fischerei" will take place on 16 February from 10:30 a.m. on the stage in the festival area in Hall 7. The opening will be organised by Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein, CEO of RX Austria & Germany, Salzburg's State Hunting Master Max Mayr-Melnhof and Salzburg State Councillor Josef Schwaiger.

Highlights of "Die Hohe Jagd & Fischerei"

In addition to numerous well-known exhibitors, the supporting programme is all about tradition and innovation. On the large stage in Hall 10, in cooperation with the Austrian Weidwerk, there will be interesting panel discussions on topics with their finger on the pulse of the times.

"We are pleased and proud to be able to offer visitors a varied and exciting programme again this year. In cooperation with Österreichs Weidwerk, the 33rd edition will feature a stage programme that combines the traditional Red Fox Awards and deer calling championships with innovative presentations on topics such as "Drones in hunting". Live butchering and wild cooking will round off the programme and provide culinary highlights," says Stefanie Remiasch, Product Manager at RX Austria & Germany.

1. Austrian Deer Calling Championship

One of the traditional highlights of Hohe Jagd & Fischerei is the Austrian National Stag Calling Championship, which will be held on Sunday 19 February from 10:00-12:00 in Hall 7 on the stage of the festival area.

2. Red Fox Austria Award

The exhibition of the master furriers, followed by the award ceremony, will take place on Saturday 18 February from 13:00-15:00 on the Weidwerk stage in Hall 10.

3. 13th European Taxidermy Championships

The ETC (European Taxidermy Championships) has been organised for over 25 years and has become the most important meeting place for the scene. Its 13th edition will once again find its way to Salzburg at the Hohe Jagd & Fischerei Messe. The world's best taxidermists will compete in various competitions from 13 February, which will then be open to visitors at the trade fair.

4. Weidwerk stage

On the Weidwerk stage in Hall 10, there will be numerous free presentations as well as cookery demonstrations - for example on butchering, cooking and grilling game. The well-known TV chef and hunter Florian Conzen will provide culinary delights with his programme "Nature's Kitchen".

5. Fishing Forum

In addition to many presentations, Thorsten Ahrens will be speaking on a hot topic: the lead ban and new possibilities, such as fishing with stones instead of lead, in order to fish the seas in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way.
