It all begins in the land of unlimited possibilities: Tim Gardener, an experienced expert in the optics industry, founded the company in California in 1996. His vision: high-performance optics of uncompromising quality for all nature lovers. And the concept works: The outstanding binoculars, riflescopes and spotting scopes quickly enjoy great popularity. The excellent service also knows how to inspire the loyal customer base. But the ALPEN team is never satisfied with its current success. Instead, they are constantly working on new ideas and technologies with great passion. As a passionate hunter and dog handler who has issued 37 annual hunting licences to date, Ralf Schäfer knows exactly what is required of hunting equipment. He also draws on a wealth of experience from around 40 years in the hunting industry. As a state-certified business economist and trainer, he worked in the past for the following companies, among others: Olin/Winchester/Browning, PUMA Messer, Cuno Melcher, S. Franzen Söhne, AKAH,  Vixen and Nikon. Besides hunting, he loves spending time with his wife and two grown-up sons.
