Powerful entry-level optics with ED glass and PXA coating now available
Rhede, November 2025 – ALPEN OPTICS is further expanding its successful Chisos binocular series and introducing two new models: the Chisos 8x42 and 10x42. Both binoculars complete the product family and replace the previous Shasta Ridge series in these magnifications.
With the new 42 mm models, ALPEN OPTICS completes its concept of an accessible entry-level series equipped with high-quality features. In addition to the already established Chisos models 8x25, 10x25, 6.5x32, and 8x32, the new binoculars now also provide a compelling solution for more demanding observation scenarios.
High-quality optics at an attractive price
The new Chisos 8x42 and 10x42 combine premium features with an affordable entry-level price of 249 euros each. Both models are equipped with high-quality ED glass (Extra-low Dispersion), which effectively reduces chromatic aberration and delivers natural, sharp images. The BaK-4 prisms with PXA phase coating ensure impressive clarity and contrast, while the fully multi-coated lenses guarantee optimal light transmission even in challenging lighting conditions.
Rugged and versatile
The compact design and low weight of around 610–620 grams make both binoculars ideal companions for nature observation, travel, hunting, and outdoor activities. The waterproof, nitrogen-filled housing withstands any weather, while the grippy rubber armor provides a secure hold. Eyeglass wearers benefit from adjustable twist-up eyecups and diopter compensation.
Availability
The ALPEN OPTICS Chisos 8x42 and 10x42 binoculars are now available from authorized retailers. Both models come with a high-quality pouch made from durable 900D sailcloth and are covered by the ALPEN OPTICS Deluxe Warranty.
